Easter

So we aren't big picture takers...so I guess I'll just have to describe our weekend. We flew home to Rochester, NY for Easter weekend, and in doing so spent almost as much time in the air as we did visiting family. We were reminded this week, just how blessed we are with incredible family. We got in around dinner time on Friday night with just enough time to eat dinner and color Easter eggs. Saturday morning it was off to visit the Carrozziere's and spend some time with my little cousin's Peter and Sarina. It was such a quick weekend, but we were so glad to be able to spend time with everyone. Saturday afternoon my friends Matt and Kristen came over with their son Noah. I am always excited to hear what is going on in their lives and wanted to give them my full attention...but Noah is so adorable I just kept getting distracted playing with him. I think our picture together looks great!!!

So after playing with Noah a bit we made lazania and visited some more. Saturday night we were off to The Father's House which is the church my sister Andrea goes to. She was dancing in all of the Easter services. She choreographed and danced in a very powerful number that incorporated modern dance into the service!!!! I love seeing good art being a part of worship. We all had a late night dinner and went to bed exhausted. Easter morning started with Andy, mom, and myself having a leisure and incredibly delicious breakfast. Andy and I also looked through our Easter basket and were thrilled to see that my mom still likes to dote on us as if we were little. Andy got a chocolate baseball glove and I got a chocolate foot...hmmm so fun! Then is was off to Joy Community Church were we saw family friends and a very powerful Easter service. The highlight was to finally see my father sing in the choir. I had been hearing about it for a month or so and was excited to see it all come together. The rest of the day was spent with the Marion family (my mother's side) eating, eating, talking, and eating. We had such a great time being able to talk and visit with everyone. Monday morning we said our goodbyes and embarked on a journey that should have ended us in Europe (9 hours on a plane) but got us only to Canada...oh well we slept well that night. What an amazing way to celebrate what God has done for us. We have been so blessed by Him in our lives and it was incredible to be with family while we celebrated His love, forgiveness, and grace for us. I also think I am over my fear of flying. God uses his grace to comfort us...and 9 hour flights to help us practice knowing his love.
