Snow in August??? Where am I?

So I went to bed last night a bit on the colder rather than hotter side.  I know that Canada is going to be a bit colder than Texas, but I was under the impression that the regulations for the month of August called for a little warmer weather.  As I shivered out of bed this morning I saw the forecast at 8 degrees.  Remembering that this was Celsius comforted me a little.  So the real temperature (or at least one my fellow Americans can relate to) was around 45.  So I'm being a bit dramatic for some of you I'm sure. I just thought I'd have at least a month and a half to find a good winter coat.  I was informed today by some of my new friends that I have closer to a two week time limit.  This being my first weekend of dance rehearsals I drag my cold little self to the studio and try to warm up my muscles before rehearsals begin.  It was then that I heard reports of snow just an hour north of Calgary, my new home.  I almost bought a ticket to Houston today.....I at least thought how I'd like to.

Well, Andy had a meeting today that lasted from 8am to 9pm...which has made my day particularly  boring, but since he isn't writing today I may as well say that the  Phillies are playing the Cubs and winning.  This is the one condition that Andy knew before we were married. Chicago holds a special place in my heart...so although I am now a devote Phillies  fan; he lets me cheer for the cubs when they play the Phillies...a big deal for those of you who know Andy.  So lets hope these cubs shape up.  Since I don't think you'd be interested in my adventure of the day ( buying a vacuum cleaner) I think I'll sign off till tomorrow and cheer my team on.

...of the chicken variety.  that's what's for dinner.  the phillies did in fact come back last night.  what're the odds?  i don't want them to make a habit of spotting the mets 7 runs, but it was an entertaining win.

I didn't realize that daily random thoughts included what we are having for dinner every night, but apparently that was Andy's interpretation :) So I wish there was an adventure to tell you all about each day, but I guess daily life can be just as exciting. I was enjoying my day today...and by that I mean staying in my pj's, not doing make-up or hair, and just cleaning and cooking. Suddenly the fire alarm goes off, and I have to admit that when I am cooking this happens often....but today it wasn't mine. I finally peeked out the front door and saw the lights in the hallway flashing. So as I have been trained, from all my days in grammar school...and the occasional three in the morning dorm drill...I got my shoes on and went out the door. Surprisingly, not everyone has been trained as I have been. Some people started going in the building. In fact, I passed two construction workers in the hallway and asked if we needed to evacuate. Mind you I was shouting and trying not to have a seizure due to the flashing lights and screeching alarm. They merely nodded that they didn't know and continued to work. I figured that as embarrassed as I was with my roll out of bed look, I would still leave the burning building. I found that I am not the only one who stays in pj's till noon. ( And I won't go further, but I can't believe what one man came out in....and I can usually believe a lot ) As I met my new neighbors, we witnessed two fire engines pull up to the condos. After, about ten minutes of socializing we were ushered back in the building. My adventure for the day!!!!! Anyway, thought you might all like to here about it.  Well, stay tuned Andy might tell you what is for dinner ...I'll write more later

today

today... the phillies stink. they're currently losing to the mets. hopefully they'll come back, but it's looking bleak. and we're having pork chops.
Hey everyone! So this is my first posting, and its going to be short. Why you might ask? Well, for the simple reason that it took me four hours to try and figure out how to set this up and add the slideshow. I'm sure its not that hard, but for some reason computers just don't like me. Well, this was inspired by Lauren who is very upset about missing out on the daily joys and struggles of the Prescott household. So in response I decided to share with you some of the ups and downs of the daily life here in Canada. I hope you enjoy keeping in touch this way, and feel free to comment on any and all of the embarrassing, sad, joyful, and just random stories we will share.
